Utilize the constitutional philosophy of originalism when a legal issue is in dispute and the matter needs to be settled. Vehemently oppose the progressive concept of a “living constitution.” If someone wishes to change the meaning of the constitution, then it should be done through the amendment process and not hijacked by unelected liberal judges.
Gun ownership is a constitutionally protected individual right. Protect sportsmen’s rights and the Second Amendment. Abolish all taxes on guns and ammunition, support passage of concealed-carry laws in all 50 states, concealed-carry permits on all college campuses, and open up more federal land for hunting.
Reassert the idea that any power not specifically granted to the federal government should be reserved for the people and the states respectively. The federal government was meant to be limited and its powers decentralized; not the other way around.
Support vouchers, charter schools, and tax credits for home schooling to promote competition and parental choice in education. End the federal government’s unconstitutional role in education.
Reduce dependence on foreign sources of energy by increasing domestic production of clean coal, oil, natural gas, and nuclear power. Use tax revenues from increased domestic production to develop more efficient renewable energy sources and to make a gradual shift away from fossil fuels.
The environment is important. Find market based solutions to environmental problems.
Free trade promotes prosperity both here at home and abroad. Support passage of additional free trade agreements and combat protectionism whenever it rears its destructive head.
Support a large decrease in non-defense related federal spending, outlawing all earmarks, a Balanced Budget Amendment to ensure responsible fiscal management, and the privatization of all sectors of the economy that have been recently nationalized. Oppose all future bailouts without exception.
Support converting federal health programs into tax credits to help individuals and families buy their own private health insurance. Support reforms that make private medicine more affordable and improve quality through competition. Oppose single-payer government-ran health care (Obama-care) because it leads to rationing, destroys the quality of medical care, and drives young Americans away from the medical care profession.
Support legal immigration because it strengthens our culture and our economy. Combat illegal immigration through tightened border security, a tamper-resistant form of ID for non-citizens, and streamline our overly bureaucratic naturalization system.
Support right-to-work laws to protect workers against forced unionization. Labor unions were founded for good reasons but have long outlived their usefulness as they have succumbed to self-serving political corruption.
Immediately audit the Federal Reserve and begin to gradually re-link the value of the dollar to precious metals to hedge against inflation. Congress has abdicated its constitutional duty to oversee the printing and distribution of our currency and its time for Congress to take its obligations seriously.
Recognize that our economic freedom is derived from private property rights and intellectual property rights. Eminent domain as a means to expand government power without a compelling reason should be resisted by all means available.
Regulation harms America’s economy more than it helps; we must continue deregulation in all areas to ensure fulfillment of the American dream for our youngest generations.
Adam:I am a proponent of the free market system and believe capitalism is the economic model that best exemplifies many elements of human nature. However, certain industries, such as the private prison industry, are detrimental to the integrity of the capitalism model. Complete deregulation of every aspect of the economy and little to no oversight of the system leads to criticism and lack of credibility to the model as a whole. It also opens a Pandora’s Box of potential unethical business practices, scams, and can set the foundation for internal economic implosion that can lead to financial crises like the one seen in 2008.
Immediately repeal the Troubled Asset Relief Program, also known as the bank bailout, and use remaining funds to pay down the national debt.
The three principles of tax reform:
The seven steps to tax reform:
Other tax cuts:
**Tax reform ideas presented above were taken from “Leave Us Alone: Getting the Government’s Hands Off Our Money, Our Guns, Our Lives.” Written by Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.
Roe v. Wade should be overruled. Life begins at conception and abortion should not be allowed at anytime and at any place. America has a culture of death. We need to change it to a culture of life. There are better ways to handle an unwanted pregnancy then abortion. The child in the womb is a gift from God, and is not at fault. Their life should not be ended.
Adam:No one is PRO-ABORTION. No one argues FOR abortion. They argue that the mother of the unborn child retain physical sovereignty over her body and the right to choose what to do with it. I don’t believe there is a clear cut answer to this issue. Most utilize abortion because they can’t raise a child in their economic situation and bringing another life into the world would burden them and the system as a whole. Opponents of abortion should be proponents of solutions to create and maintain sustainable programs for children brought into a world of poverty and inequality. Our greatest resource is our people. We need to make sure we have a system that allows this priceless resource thrive.
Support laws protecting religious freedom wherever it is threatened in accordance with the vision of our founding fathers. America is destined to be a symphony of faith where each individual has the freedom to worship a higher power according to your own understanding.
Traditional marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. Every child deserves to be raised in a stable and loving home blessed by the presence of a mother and a father. Support state efforts to strengthen traditional marriage within the framework of federalism.
Adam:I believe the civil and legal rights of traditional marriage to be extended to same sex couples. I believe people are so polarized about this issue because the religious connotations surrounding the word “marriage”. While it might take quite some time, if at all for most people to be okay calling it gay marriage, it’s important we preserve and promote “liberty and justice for all” of our citizens. Whether we call it marriage or something else, people deserve the right to be happy and live in a system that promotes that.
Expand annual terms for members of the House of Representatives from two years to three years. This is designed to somewhat mitigate the endless campaign mentality our nation’s capitol while maintaining responsiveness to the American electorate.
The Framers of the Future recognize that America is locked into a two party system that often disenfranchises voters that would vote otherwise. We feel that the best route to strengthening America to return the Republican Party to its conservative roots. Only by taking the principles of Ronald Reagan and spreading them to all corners of the GOP apparatus can we hope to strengthen America. The Democrat party has been lost to the enemies of America; the progressive movement.
Support limiting House Representatives to six terms in office for a total of twelve years and limiting Senators to two terms in office for a total of twelve years. We realize some members of Congress are outstanding public servants but the era of entrenched incumbents dominating our nation’s capitol needs to end. It’s time for fresh leadership.
The United States have successfully liberated Iraq. We must train security forces in Iraq and maintain our presence there until the Iraqi government can safely govern the region.
Iranian nuclear weapons would trigger a nuclear arms race in the middle east and endanger the safety and security of the American people. This is unacceptable. Remain prepared to launch pre-emptive air strikes against all suspected nuclear sites if economic sanctions fail to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
The military requires a major expansion in capability to deal with counterinsurgency efforts in both Afghanistan and Iraq and a potential conflict with Iran. Peace through strength is the best way to avoid military confrontation with China and/or Russia.
Reduce spending on impractical weapons systems and refocus resources on expanding the Army and Marine Corps. Recognize that in the 21st century conventional warfare will become less common while counterinsurgency operations will become more frequent.
To protect America's sovereignty, we should be prepared to use whatever means necessary to protect our country. Diplomacy should be used before any military action. The Patriot Act combined with vigorous congressional oversight is necessary to ensure homeland security.
Adam:The War on Terror could be the world’s first ongoing and never ending “war”. It is against a faceless, merciless, and ever evolving enemy. We must ensure a safe world for all those opposed to terror organizations, agents, and any form of oppression and tyranny. However, measures need to be considered to better identify the causes and catalysts for terrorism in the first place. We need to be more diligent in identifying the causes for terror and why/how people are joining terrorist organizations and engaging in their violent activities. We must stop the problem at its source. It should be noted that terrorism has been used by many different organizations with different causes as a means to meet their ends, and is not exclusive to solely radical Islam. Terrorism is known as the “power of the powerless”, and has transformed warfare and strategy in our modern era. We must eliminate those who cause harm to innocent people.
