Adam Ornelas

Adam Ornelas

Adam Ornelas is a native New Mexican. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School before graduating from La Cueva High School, where he played football and was active in both student Senate and DECA. He has studied at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and is currently is pursuing his Political Science degree at the University of New Mexico with hopes of pursuing his JD/MBA after receiving his bachelor’s degree. Adam is a firm believer that today’s ever changing and complicated world makes it nearly impossible for an individual to have their beliefs adhere solely to one party’s platform and considers himself a political moderate.

When Adam’s not talking politics, Adam enjoys cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers, Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Volunteers, Lobos, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He’s a movie aficionado and enjoys just about every kind of music: Hip Hop, Electronic, and Country being his favorite. He was also member of the Beta Xi Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at UNM. He was the creator and a participant of Sigma Chi Fight Night (Charity Boxing tournament) at the University of New Mexico in November 2010, an event that raised over $12,000.00 for Susan G. Komen For the Cure. He’s a fitness nut, certified personal trainer, and has never met a book he didn’t like! He is always up to learn new things and share great conversation and hear different perspectives. He is the oldest son of Agnes and Erick Ornelas and has a younger brother, Rick Ornelas, a sophomore at Cibola High School..
